Financial Controller, Caribbean

A luxury Caribbean resort, part of an exclusive privately owned group has a new need for an experienced Financial Controller.
Island experience is required.

The successful candidate will be offered a high US net salary and added excellent benefits.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • FINANCIAL REPORTING
  • LEADING ACCOUNTING, PURCHASING & IT TEAM
  • PAYROLL
  • OTHER TASKS to include:
  • Ensure all payment deadlines are met to avoid any penalties while managing cash flows
  • Assist and guide operational teams as needed
  • Participate in weekly HOD, Executive and Revenue meetings
  • Maintenance of & Keep Fixed Assets register updated with copy of related invoices
  • Completion of full year end Working Papers Binder with back ups
  • Approval of and ensure Coverage for vacations within the Department
  • Update contract binders (physical and electronic)
  • Daily Review and approval of Purchase Orders with VP of Resort Assets
  • Assist in implementing and reviewing internal controls and policies
  • Participate in Manager on Duty Program at Resort when requested
  • Assist with any other task requested by the Group Financial Controller

Financial Analyst, London

Working for an international hotel owner, this role of Financial Analyst will be responsible for analytical, operational and business planning support to the hotel teams.
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for:
  • Analysing weekly / monthly operational data from hotels
  • Collating hotel reports, including forecasts and month end results
  • Compile reports and statistics for monthly business reviews
  • Assist with the creation of standardised asset management procedures and hotel reporting platforms
  • Support the implementation of business planning tool, including financial reconciliations and data control
Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of the hotel industry in an accounting or analytical position, with excellent Excel skills and a good eye for detail.
  • Relevant hospitality / finance / real estate degree or equivalent
  • Familiar with the Uniform System of Accounts
  • Good understanding of P&L statements, Balance Sheets and Cashflow statements
  • Full fluency in English, with additional European languages a plus
  • Ability to work on own initiative, both independently and as part of a team
  • Good organisation skills and attention to detail
