IT Manager – Italian Dolomites

We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead the proactive and continuous IT systems at a premier luxury mountain retreat located in the Italian Dolomites.

Role
The IT Manager will be responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance on all computer systems, data and voice communication activities at the property. Working closely with the corporate team to implement corporate-initiated technology amongst other duties to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with all departments and corporate teams.
  • Adhere to Corporate IT instructions and provide reports on a timely basis.
  • Ensure that all critical systems are available 24 hours a day.
  • Collaborate with external vendors, suppliers, and service providers to acquire IT equipment, software licenses, and support services. Additionally, oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs) to guarantee cost-effectiveness and prompt issue resolution.
  • Must be able to assist hotel guests with technical requirements and issues.
  • Create training programs and resources to educate colleagues on the utilization of IT systems and tools.
  • Managing the day-to-day IT requests and ensuring they are resolved in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • IT Degree or related major would be preferred.
  • Proficient in providing technical assistance and support to end users, as well as managing and supporting networked computing environments for over 3 years.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, proficient in strategic planning and organizational skills, adept at multitasking and managing priorities.
  • Previous hotel experience is a must.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written Italian is essential, also English language skills are essential.
  • Candidates should be eligible to work in the EU.

The role of Director of IT will be responsible for leading the proactive and continuous improvement to the IT systems and processes as part of the group technology strategy, ensuring compliance, governance, and IT controls are in place and adhered to.

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Developing and delivering the technology strategy and ensuring that it is aligned with business objectives.
  • Overseeing all IT infrastructure including equipment, software, networks, systems, and hardware.
  • Responsible for managing IT systems infrastructure, management information and hardware.
  • Develop the business strategy on data security and ensure technical resilience and security across technology/internal communication platforms and resident/transactional databases.
  • Fully accountable for change management and project delivery aligned to the strategic roadmap and business operating plans.
  • Develop and support the team to respond to current and future demands of a constantly changing technological landscape.
  • Develop a partnership between IT and the business, by developing relationships, managing expectations, and facilitating two-way communication.
  • Develop and maintain relationship with suppliers, contractors, and our third-party IT support

Candidate Specification: 

  • 5+ years of hands-on technical IT roles
  • Infrastructure and networking experience
  • Ability to work both in a management capacity- and in a detailed, hands-on system capacity.
  • Ability to manage business systems
  • Experience managing third party suppliers
  • Project Management experience

Desirable:

  • ITIL qualifications
  • Data analytics with Power BI knowledge
  • Prince2 Practitioner or Agile qualifications
  • Business analysis experience
  • Care sector system experience
  • Change management experience

The role of the Infrastructure Support Engineer is to be responsible for supporting the systems team on the network, VMware, firewall and security infrastructure for three UK properties. Though skilfully trained, they never lose sight of their ultimate reasonability, to create lifelong memories for their customers .

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous experience working in an IT environment essential.
  • Be able to demonstrate proven abilities in the support and installation of a variety of IT solutions
  • It is also essential to have a working knowledge and practical experience of the following:
    • Microsoft Desktop & Office Systems
    • VMware VSphere
    • Active Directory Security and Administration, GPO
    • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
    • Support of hardware, printers, desktops and servers
    • Email, Antivirus & Backup software
    • Networking knowledge regarding WAN, LAN, VLAN, VPN, WLAN, layer 2/3 switching, Firewalls and routers.
